Our trip starts from the beautiful valley of lakes, Pokhara; and then the trail stretches through dense rhododendron forests. On the way to Annapurna Base Camp we will stop in Ghorepani to visit Poonhill. Poonhill is one of the most popular viewpoints in the Annapurna region. After reaching Poonhill at early in the morning we will enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of the snow-capped mountain ranges. The view will be so mesmerizing that you don’t want to blink your eyes even for a single second. From Poonhill the dawn view of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak and other himalayan peaks seems legendary. We then pass through bamboo plantations and deep gorges with breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains in front of our eyesight. As we gradually start gaining altitude we will discover that vegetation turns thinner and thinner. Just before reaching Annapurna Base Camp, we reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp. The views of mountains look majestic. The view from Annapurna Base Camp at an altitude of 4130 meters looks equally majestic and spectacular. At the base camp we are surrounded by majestic himalayan ranges, and icy glaciers. It is a memorable scene to be captured by the eyes and the lens of your camera.
During the Annapurna Base Camp trek we can enjoy the spectacular view of the peaks like Fishtail Mountain (Mt. Machhapuchre 6,993m), Mt. Annapurna I (8,091m), Mt. Annapurna II (7,939m), Mt. Annapurna III (7,555m), Mt. Annapurna IV (7,525m), Lamjung Himal (6,986m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6441m), and other small and high peaks of the Annapurna mountain range. The highest altitude we will be reaching during the trek is the Annapurna Base camp at an altitude of 4130m from sea level.
Throughout the Annapurna region trek, mesmerizing panoramic view of the high himalayan peaks can be seen on the north. The contrast of the rice-fields and villages with the snow peaks above makes the Annapurna trekking very picturesque trekking indeed. Annapurna region trekking’s all these contrasting features makes Annapurna trekking in Nepal unique than other region trekking trail.
Day 01: Arrival
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport, you will be received by a representative and transferred to your hotel. After checking in, you can either take rest or spend your time exploring the city.
Day 02: Trek preparation day in Kathmandu
Meeting with the guide for briefing and check list all the trekking gears or buy required gears.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara by flight and drive to Kande and same day trek to Australian Camp (2060 m) 2 Hrs.
We will take an early flight to Pokhara. Then drive to Kande (45 minutes) by private bus/jeep and then climb uphill to the Australian camp, situated at an altitude of 2060 m from sea level. Enjoy the beautiful view of the majestic Snow Mountains dominating the entire landscape as far as the eye could see. Overnight at Australian Camp.
Day 04: Australian Camp to Landruk Trek (4-5) Hrs.
Today’s trek will be normal walk, Some uphill and some downhill through the forest, where we will find different vegetation on the way. Night at Lodge at the Landruk. Here, you can have a view of Huinchuli and Annapurna South. So you can spend a great night having a great view of Mountains.
Day 05: Landruk to Jhinu Danda (1780 m) Trek; (3-4) Hrs.
Today we trek to Jhinu Danda, the natural hot spring. We will have bath and rest for a while. The trail will be easy on this day along with the beautiful views.
Day 06: Jhinu Danda to Bamboo Trek; (5-6) Hrs.
After leaving Jhinu and we will trek uphill for an hour and reach Chhomrong, where we finally catch the Annapurna Base Camp trekking trail. Here, we will be climbing down the stairs and after crossing the suspension bridge, we will climb up the stairs and reach the Sinuwa Village and walk through the bamboo forest to reach the place called Bamboo with few tea houses. Overnight stay at Bamboo.
Day 07: Bamboo to Deurali; Trek (5-6) Hrs.
The trail will be mostly uphill on this day but we will climb very gently. There will be no such steep uphill. We will reach Dovan and Himalayan Hotel before reaching Deurali. Stay overnight.
Day 08: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4130 m)
After breakfast, we will trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp, which is the highest place that we scale during our trek and is a major attraction of our trek. We will enjoy the mesmerizing view of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Gandharva Chuli, , Annapurna III, Gangapurna etc. We can also enjoy the spectacular sunset and sunrise view from the Annapurna Base Camp.
Day 09: Annapurna Base Camp to Dovan Trek; (6-7) Hrs
After watching a majestic sunrise view in the Annapurna Base Camp, and enjoy how each rays of sun makes view of Annapurna I, Baraha Shikhar, Tent Peak, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Gandharva Chuli spectacular. After breakfast we will trek back the same way down to Dovan.
Day 10: Dovan to Chhomrong (2170 m) Trek; (5-6) Hrs.
From Dovan, we start to climb down until we reach the Bamboo village, and then few ups and downs takes us to the Upper Sinuwa village. From Upper Sinuwa we then climb down the steps to Chhomrong Khola and then climb few stone steps to reach Chhomrong. Stay overnight at Chhomrong.
Day 11: Chhomrong to Ghandruk (1940 m) Trek; (4-5) Hrs.
Ghandruk is one of the oldest Gurung community villages. In Ghandruk we will visit the museums and also see the traditional houses and lifestyles of the people of Gurung ethnic groups. Most of the men from this village are in Gurkha Army. It also offers the view of Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre.
Day 12: Ghandruk to Kimche just 45 minutes trek and then drive to Pokhara
Day 13: Early morning drive to Sarangkot for sunrise view and then for the rest of the day Pokhara sightseeing
Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu from Pokhara
