Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek


Day 01: Arrival:

On an arrival at the international airport, we will be picked up and then transferred to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara by flight and drive to Kande  and trek to Australian Camp; 2Hrs.

From Kathmandu, you take an early flight to Pokhara. From Pokhara, drive to Kande (45 minutes) and then climb uphill to the Australian camp for 2 hrs. Overnight at Australian Camp.

Day 03: Australian Camp to Forest Camp (2600 m) Trek; (5-6) Hrs.

Our trail passes through a lush forest dotted with red rhododendrons. The flowers are a common sight in Nepalese hills and it is no surprise that its Nepal’s national flower. Our trail will be very quiet until we reach a clearing of the forest camp. We can take rest and explore the area which is also locally known  as Kokar.

Day 04: Forest Camp to High Camp (3900 m) Trek; (5-6) Hrs.

After breakfast, we continue our trek passing through the dense forests admiring Nepal’s rich biodiversity and reach the low camp, where we can see the majestic view of Mt. Fishtail. Then we trek uphill alongside a ridge towards Mardi Himal and Fishtail. The tree lines start getting thinner and the area mostly consists of shrubs with isolated rhododendron bushes along the trail. If lucky, we might even come across the Danphe (national bird of Nepal) on our way to high camp. We ascend up to the high camp, which the final destination of the day.

Day 05: High Camp – Mardi Himal Base Camp (4450 m) – Low Camp (3050 m): Trek; (6-7) Hrs.

On our trek to the upper viewpoint we ascend and descend, and sometimes on a steep and narrow trail passes through pastures and we hike along a narrow ridge before reaching the Upper Viewpoint. The view of the Himalayan vista from here is astonishing. We see Mardi Himal (5587m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna south (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), BarahaShikhar (Mt. Fang) (7647m), Tent Peak (5695m), Singhachuli (6501m), Machapuchhre (6993m) and others. Then we trek down to Low Camp. Overnight stay at Low camp.

Day 06: Low Camp  to  Landruk:(1565 m) Trek 4-5 Hrs

Day 07: Landruk to Ghandruk (1940 m) Trek; (2-3) Hrs.

After breakfast, we will head on the short trek to Ghandruk, the biggest Gurung settlement with a closer view of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre and Hiunchuli. You can also visit Gurung Local Museum opened up by local people. The houses are made from special old rocks. So you will really like these traditional houses.

Day 08: Ghandruk to Birethanti (4-5) hrs and same day drive to Pokhara.

Day 09: Pokhara Sightseeing

Day 10: Fly back to Kathmandu
